Waukesha Water Politics Spills Over To Common Council Format, Role

A citizens' group that supports Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima and is unhappy with the way the Common Council has isolated him in City Hall is embarking on a plan to reduce the Council's size and limits its role within city government.

Details, here.

Remember - - the 15-member Council is the same body that says it left Scrima off the city's water negotiating team to de-politicize the process, but water planning is and will continue to be a political one, and the new citizen movement makes that even more clear.

The Waukesha Citizens Accountability Board is currently exploring citizen participation to hold an action by direct legislation to propose an ordinance to reduce the Waukesha Common Council from it's current level of governance of 15 members to 7 members.
