Waukesha Business Community Sees Lake Michigan Water As Growth Spur

Long piece in BizTimes.com covers a great deal of ground in the Waukesha water supply issue.

People following the issue will want to read and archive it.

I appreciate that niche publications speak to specialized audiences, but I'm not sure that regulators in other states will see business growth in Waukesha as a justification under the Great Lakes Compact's strict diversion exceptions compelling enough to approve Waukesha's application.

Sentiment from Waukesha-area businesses, such as:

“How are you going to attract business if you’ve got contaminated, radium-filled water? Who wants to move a business there?” said Michael Gryczka, vice president of commercial lending for Pewaukee-based Investors Bank and chairman of the board for the Waukesha County Business Alliance.

Who wants to bring a business to the tax-hell and climate-changed weather hell that is Wisconsin?

These guys don't even realize what they're saying!

Furthermore, Mr. Gryczka, once the City of Waukesha becomes compliant with the DNR's/EPA's order, it won't be drinking contaminated water anymore. The City is roughly 93% compliant now.
