Town Of Waukesha Wants A Seat At Water Supply Negotiating Table

The City of Waukesha has barred its own Mayor from the negotiating team that will meet with potential selling communities like Milwaukee, so why would it include at the table the neighboring Town of Waukesha before the Town has agreed to be included in the City's expanded Lake Michigan water service territory map?

The Waukesha Patch has the report.

A map the Southeastern Wisconsin Planning Commission cooked up without hearings, or consultation with the Town before the map found its way into the Lake Michigan diversion application the City forwarded about a year ago for review to the state Department of Natural Resources.

The Town's proposal makes planning sense, but politically - - as the City and Town have sparred over water-related annexations and water rights - - I imagine the City will say "no."
