More Proposed DNR 'Streamlining,' More Lining Streams With Pollution

Legislative Republicans busy carrying water for private interests likely to pollute those waters continue to push proposals to limit the ability of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to do its job.

Again, the idea - - as with the bill to shrink the amount of review time the DNR could put into considering the 21-mile-long iron ore strip mine near Ashland - - is to cut more permit consideration time frames, and institute automatic permit issuance even if the official review is incomplete.

This is more Republican fakery. They are fooling around with the language - - like messing with election procedures - - as the GOP calls it streamlining, when, in fact, its a way to line streams and other public resources with obstacles and pollution.
