Industry Has Spun "Tar Sands" Into "Oil Sands"

Used to be that we read about the miracle of Canadian tar sand crude oil slurried to the US for refining, but after a few damaging pipeline spills, industry also decided to clean up the labeling, so now it's "oil sand," which sounds a bit softer and prettier.

Images of sand dunes or sandy beaches, and more pleasant than icky, sticky, smelly and flat-out toxic tar, which is what kills birds on beaches after a well blowout.

Don't be surprised if the propagandists go further, renaming oil sand Canadian tea, or Alberta green.

Kinda like the enviromentalists relabeling "Global Warming" as "Climate Change". Just waiting for how this renaming is different. Won't hold my breath waiting for an intelligent answer though.

@Ron R Pretty easy really. Research papers going back many many decades used the term climate change.
