NW Wisc. Winters Could Warm Eight Degrees F.

If a 3.6 degrees F. (2 C.) increase in temperature is considered a danger, think about this:

WICCI [Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts] climate scientists project that our winters will see the most warming of any other season by mid-century. Northwestern Wisconsin, where the ['Berkie'] ski race occurs, is expected to warm the most—by as much as 8◦F.

INB4 usual moronic comments about how this is a good thing:

Wisconsin's forests are comprised of various tree species that rely on the cold to keep insects at bat. Too many mild winters, and you get insect infestations, die offs, wild fires. Fun, fun, fun.

What a joke! The 1950 year is cherry picked specifically to produce an inflated result and much of Wisconsin has not experienced any warming at all by their own analysis but yet they predict extreme warming from this trend. Hopefully Scott Walker will cut the funding for this ridiculous project.

The Apple nd Cherry crops were destroyed last year because of extreme warm temperatures in March.

An anti-AGW scold arguing that data is cherry-picked? Oh, the humor! The irony! The stupidity!

It's already happening in NW Wisconsin. 2013 is the first year in 5 - 6 years Birkie planners didn't have to truck in snow from the UP. A couple of those years it was a worry if the UP would have the snow. I grew up in that part of the state and have family there still. Anecdotally, winters there ain't what they used to be. My spouse grew up in SE Wisconsin and claims that winters HERE ain't what they used to be, either. Winters everywhere were: colder, longer, snowier. It doesn't take a PhD in biology or meterology to conclude that the climate here is warming. Just some observation skills, common sense and outside-the-box reasoning--outside the Fox box, that is.

The cherry crop was injured by cold weather, not warm weather. And if you look at the actual data from the wisc. climatology dept. there has been a drop in temperature in the last 10 years of published data

How much sillier can you Madison liberals get? The global warming hoax was debunked a few years ago with the release of the emails showing alarmists juggling the numbers to “hide the decline”. Take a look at the recent climate data yourself to see that the most recent 10-15 year trend has been downward. You are simply ignoring the real science of actual long term global temperature data and focusing on daily weather events which support your ridiculous theory while ignoring those that don’t. Are you a bunch of science deniers, or just a bunch of brain dead Algore zombies?

"The cherry crop was injured by cold weather, not warm weather"

It was injured by a false spring. That is, by premature warming that caused ti to bud just before winter resumed.

Those emails showed no such thing.

I'll take the 8 degrees. Especially considering we have no ability to control it one way or the other.
