Favoritism For Polluter Makes Mockery Of Walker's "Transparency" Claim
It is impossible to match up the stunning disclosures of string-pulling by top Scott Walker DNR appointees on behalf of an egregious polluter with candidate Walker's now laughable claim to transparency made during the 2010 campaign:
"I don't just say that, I've lived it."

When did he live it- maybe as an Eagle Scout?
There is a system in place within DNR that is supposed to prevent these types of things from occurring. The document is the environmental enforcement handbook that all regulators and enforcement are provided and expected to follow. In fact, there is an intensive training module offered to those employes to reinforce the processes and criteria in the guidance. While not a law, this handbook is a directive to DNR staff on how enforecement procedures are to be handled. For those familiar with the process and guidance, it seems pretty clear that the criteria for referral to justice is called for. Perhaps the DNR leadership should be held accountable for for following agency procedures just like what is expected from the rank and file.
