Kloppenburg Comes Out Ahead In Wisconsin Court Race
From unknown to winner in weeks: impressive.
And OK, I missed the declaration (around 1 p.m.) by a few hours, since I wrote early, really early this morning...Applause please : ) - -
"Challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg, a first-time State Supreme Court candidate, is 1,500 votes behind incumbent Justice David Prosser, who had run unopposed in the last cycle, and got 55% of the vote in a four-way primary just six weeks ago.
"Then the Kloppenburg campaign caught fire, Prosser got defined as = Walker, and by the time I get up tomorrow morning, she may be ahead."

APPLAUSE and APPLAUSE and APPLAUSE!
. . . . for your many early morning, late night and mid-afternoon posts.
. . . .for your prolific and well-written commentary.
. . . . for keeping us well-informed and current on issues from water to recycling to politics.
. . . for enduring the barbs of the misinformed, the ill-informed and the willfully ignorant who accuse you of the very crimes they commit constantly. (Anon Jim and Reagan's Disciple come to mind, although several 'Anonymous's fly over and strafe your position.
We are proud to be among your early and many fans! Keep up the good work, James!
In light of this Kloppenburg victory, I can't help but wonder how Barbara Lawton would have fared against Scott Walker. Hard to say, really, since she did not have such a galvanizing issue to run on. But if anyone dismissed Lawton largely because -- or solely because -- of her gender, I think they made a mistake.
Hey, Betsey - - Thanks for that. And anyone reading at 12:57 AM is a person after my own heart.
This vote will change quite a bit. Waukesha still needs to "reconcile" their vote total.
