Having my Whitefish Bay Wisconsin basement inundated by sanitary backup as a result of the 4.25 inch per hour deluge on July 22, 2010 (supposedly a 700 year event), I find the results claimed by these papers interesting. Southern Wisconsin hadn't seen a rain of that intensity since the summer of 2009 in Baraboo. Northern Illinois didn't see a rain of that intensity until the DuPage County storm of July 29, 2010. I will have to pass your blog link to my fellow flood victims of the summer of 2010.
