Federal Judges Redraw Districts Set Up Illegally By GOP Legislators

So a tawdry chapter in state political history draws to a close: a three-judge Federal panel does the heavy lifting to redraw legislative boundaries in heavily-Latino State Assembly districts on Milwaukee's south side after Republican legislators had crafted the boundaries illegally by diluting those minority residents' voting power.

And had drawn the lines in secret.

Then refused to fix them.

Wisconsin's GOP has lowered the governance bar in the state

They moved 1 line. Whoop de do!

The bigger, uncovered story here is that ALL of the other districts remain in place. The judge panel ruled in favor of the maps in 97 other districts.

In fact, the even the two in question where more fair to Latinos. Republicans wanted Latinos to have a chance at two seats, but democrats feared they will not vote and would rather have them settle for one secure seat.

Don't worry, in 10 years the Dems may have an opportunity to change them back.
