Improved rail inspections will aid public safety

This New York Times story details new federally-ordered rail safety inspection procedures that are in the works following inaction that preceded at least one recent fiery derailment.

As noted here, trains carrying longer loads of volatile shale oil move through Wisconsin all the time, so better track inspections in a state with only one inspector on the public payroll to supplement company inspections is an overdue and welcome development.
