Governments, road-builders again fleecing taxpayers

It happened when officials gave away bridge and parking meter revenues for phantom benefits in Chicago, and on several turnpikes first constructed with taxpayer dollars, and it's been allowed to happen again in a half-a-billion dollar tunnel scam about to pick the pockets of Virginia taxpayers for years to come.

This is what happens when you let the government-highway complex 'plan' transportation spending without oversight, let alone a conscience - - but with giant sums of money floating around in a gree-poisoned environment.
