Ryan's Marathon Claim Not Verified; Story Will Have Stronger Legs
After his now-infamous GM plant closing "false" PolitiFact FUBAR, this story won't die over the Labor Day weekend:
Paul Ryan Has Not Run Sub-3:00 Marathon
August 31, 2012 11:59 am
It turns out Paul Ryan has not run a marathon in less than three hours—or even less than four hours.
A spokesman confirmed late Friday that the Republican vice presidential candidate has run one marathon. That was the 1990 Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, where Ryan, then 20, is listed as having finished in 4 hours, 1 minute, and 25 seconds.
Ryan had said in a radio interview last week that his personal best was "Under three, high twos. I had a two hour and fifty-something."

Jeez, that is unreal. Hart.
OK that's just pathetic, making Ryan the Rosie Ruiz of politics, but I be he can do more pushups than Tommy Thompson.
Ryan seems to be one of those guys who can't keep himself from lying. I read the comments at Runner's World -- the posters there are furious. For the fit Gen-whatevers who might otherwise have supported R/R, who are proud of their own accomplishments, the casual false appropriation of a significant athletic achievement signifies a great character defect. Several wrote that he can't be trusted on anything.
We knew that. It's nice to see the truth spreading to other segments of the population.
What's sad about this is:
1) some people believe this anyway.
2) some believe it not knowing that he's been proved to exaggerate.
3) Ryan's kids are growing up seeing him lie every day and getting away with it.
