Obama Enthusiasm Gap? A GOP Fantasy In Milwaukee

Ticket distribution began Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee at President Barack Obama's campaign offices for his Saturday rally on the Summerfest Grounds.

I was told people were in line at the King Dr. campaign office - - one of many in the City - - after 4 p.m. and there was a steady line more than a block long by the time we got there at 6:15 p.m.

We got our tickets in 45 minutes and there were plenty of people behind us.

All in all - - an upbeat, friendly, diverse crowd, with many buyers at the table past the registration table getting T-shirts, buttons, bumper stickers and dorm window signs.

Enthusiasm gap? I think not.

What started as a small fundraiser is going to turn into a big, happy crowd!

They were lined up at the Waukesha OFA office today as well. I drove past around 5:15 pm and there were lines stretching in both directions, approx 40 -50 ppl in each line. In WAUKESHA!!!

That was the Obama supporter line? I drove by earlier and thought it was a new welfare office.

Then again, they are one in the same.

I post Reagan Disciple's comment today only to show the depth of the hate on the Right that drags down the debate here. Though insulting and dishonest, it is a motivator.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I knew that would rile you guys up.

On a positive note, at least I've found something that will motivate Obama supporters.

... and by the way. It is hard to blame someone for making assumptions when this President is proud of the increase in how many people are on welfare, food stamps and disability.

Should the highest office in the land be working to reduce the number of people on these programs?

What happened to the hope and change? Instead we have more people dependent upon government programs.

Hardly a recipe for success and certainly not worthy of another 4 years.

That's nice, but better reporting would point out that this will be a remarkably small venue compared to the capacity of the site at Summerfest where Obama drew a capacity crowd on the Labor Day before last -- and before his vow to stand with workers became but a hollow promise.

I'm not going this time. I can't find my comfy shoes anymore, either.

To Anon 10:37 a.m. I'm not looking for perfection in candidates. I've got my share of complaints about Obama, But I am a realist first, and know what Romney and Ryan would do to the budget, the Supreme Court and a plethora of other programs that are important to me and others.

Reagan's Disciple that would translate to a GOP lemming.

Oh by the way are you stealing from your boss or a member of the 47% takers that RMoney ignores.

Posting through out the day you too must be one of the lazy bums RMoney ignores.

That would make it a perfect circle a lemming who votes against his own best interest.

The "enthusiasm gap" was something created by corporate media to try to give the impression the race is close so they could get more ads. It's not, but why back off now?

Anon 10:55am- Reagan's is on the Kettle Moraine HS computer during the day, and his Mom's Internet at night. Add up to ya now? That loser proves Bill Maher's theory about GOPs having the mentality of 14-year-olds, completely self-absorbed fools who think they know everything, and know very little about anything.

Rowen, what in the world does my comment (at 10:37) about not standing in line now have to do with your comment about standing in line at the polls in November?

I'm surprised, as I usually do not see you pulling such a sleazy rhetorical trick.

You've lost me, Anon.

Reagan's D's wife works: that's good enough for him.

I don't really think it's the hate of the right (although I do think that so many on the right are hateful, such as Rush), but it's more intellectual laziness and dishonesty that bothers me. You can predict his/their reaction every doggone time. It's plain old boring. And certainly no fun to argue with him. Like arm wrestling with an armless man.
