Milwaukee River Public Session This Saturday: Invitation
CONTACT: Ann Brummitt 414-379-5680 or 414-287-0207 x227 Milwaukee River Greenway Master Plan Design Workshop Saturday, February 6 at the Urban Ecology Center from 10 am to 2pm On behalf of the Milwaukee River Work Group (MRWG) we invite you to attend this design workshop that will foster a community based vision for the Milwaukee River upstream from the RiverWalk to Silver Spring Drive for improved public access, recreation, and wildlife habitat within Milwaukee, Glendale and Shorewood. Sixty-five people have reserved spots at this event and over 200 people attended three kick off events in January. MRWG is a collaborative that includes over twenty agencies and interested individuals that is working with the private landowners, the City and County of Milwaukee, the City of Glendale, and the Village of Shorewood to develop a Master Plan that links together public and private land (with public easements) along both sides of the river. The consulting team from Plunkett-Raysich, RA Smith National, and Community Design Solutions at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will be leading the workshop.
