Bush Sticks Consumers With High Fuel Costs

The Supreme Court told the Bush administration it had failed to curb greenhouse emissions, and to get busy legally doing its job.

So what does Bush do? Oh, so clever.

He tells the relevant federal agencies to work out a plan to require more fuel efficient vehicle engines - - by the time he leaves office.

Which means his clients in the oil industry can wring out maximum profits from consumers until January, 2009.

Has there ever been a more mean-spirited, class-conscious, greedy group of people masquerading as public servants in US history?

Never.

The working class in this country have been getting sold out for years. The cost of everything is going up and up, while our middle-class jobs are going to China, India, and Central and South America. Meanwhile, healthcare costs are going through the roof, working-class people can't afford to send their children to college, and we have illegal immigrants driving down wages in our own country. King George and his cronies only seem to be interested in spreading Democracy to the Middle East and handing out tax cuts to his friends. Sadly, I'm not so sure that the Democrats are any better.

Then everybody wonders why we have increasing social problems. It's not that Americans are lazier or more stupid than the rest of the world. It's just that our elected officials are selling us down the river for financial gain.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sick and tired of it. Unfortunately, just like everything else in this skewed world, the working-class and the poor have less and less of a voice.
