Vacancy Looms On Waukesha Water Commission - - But Who Makes This Appointment?

An alderman is leaving, but who gets to make the appointment to fill the vacancy on the water utility commission that departure is creating?

Will it be a Mayoral appointment or a Common Council appointment - - a so-called compromise that diluted the Mayor's appointing authority as a punishment for his skepticism over the city's troubled diversion application and boosted the power of pro-diversion Council President Paul Ybarra may not provide the answer.

Interesting in that a new local start-up news source and no other had reported this.

It appears that Waukesha has 2 pro-diversion alderman not seeking re-election. Perhaps the flock of sheep may be thinning.

The remaining alderman not up for re-election are going to bear the burden of originally forwarding the rejected DNR application and the for-certain water bill increases for the continuation of the application process. A stripped down DNR diversion application acceptance does not mean Waukesha will get Lake Michigan water. Quite the opposite is most likely the outcome.

It's not about needs, it's all about wants.
