Waukesha Posts Lake Michigan, Water Supply Alternatives' Cost Estimates

The Waukesha Water Utility has posted on its website a breakdown of estimated costs for three water supply alternatives, with its preferred plan - - a Lake Michigan diversion - - carrying a projected $164 million construction price tag.

It would dwarf recent water utility capital project costs.

And is about triple the entire City's 2010 operating budget.

So any way you slice it, it's a lot of dough.
