On Sunday, buy plants which sustain endangered Monarch butterflies
Here's a Sunday activity, Milwaukee:
Monarch Lovers Reminder!
What: Our annual Plant Sale!
When: This Sunday June 2nd! 12-3 pm
Where: Milwaukee County Parks parking lot, 9480 Watertown Plank Rd (off Discovery Parkway)
Why: Monarchs and pollinators need our help—we can all help by planting natives. (All proceeds help the Friends restore the Monarch habitat and educate the community.)
We know you'll be eager to be there, but please do not arrive early as our volunteers need time to set up for the sale!
There are 2 parts to bringing back the monarchs: 1) to support the caterpillars, 2) and JUST as important -- is to plant for the fall migration.
We will have milkweed in limited supply. We WILL have the following varieties: showy, swamp, butterfly milkweed, and prairie milkweed -- all perfect additions to any garden and terrific for monarchs. Prices $4- $20
We will also have our “grab-and-go” ever-popular mixtures: “Monarch Habitat-In-a-Bag”, “Caterpillar Care package”, “Bee Kind”, and “Migration Essentials” $14.95 - $39.95
We have the best most desirable plants for the fall migration: goldenrod, aster and liatris - to name a few.
Come on out and learn about the whole monarch craze, the plight of all pollinators and plant natives in your yard! …and support the work of the Friends of the Monarch Trail!
See you Sunday!
