Wisconsin Legislators Want To Adopt Dumb Growth Planning

What else can you call a proposal getting bill sponsorship in the legislature to let communities opt out of Smart Growth plans they have spent the last ten years developing and approving?

Typically these plans were produced through local meetings that encouraged discussion and compromise.

95% of Wisconsin communities have them on their books, state grants helped pay for them, and no one is complaining.

You want a fuel storage dump on a county park? Strip malls abutting a marsh? Then this bill is for you.

The bill's authors are claiming that this will restore local control.

How does allowing development to proceed without local resident participation "restore local control?"
