Walker Violates Campaign Pledge On Closed Caucus Meetings

You will remember that Scott Walker met last week in a closed session with Republican legislators to brief them on his anti-union budget plan, the State Journal reported:

"Walker shared details of the plan with Republican lawmakers in a closed caucus Thursday."

But do you remember that candidate Walker pledged to end closed caucus.

Says so right on his campaign website which posted an account of a talk he gave on the Marquette Campus:

"Aside from economics and job creation, Walker also discussed ways he would make state government more transparent, which would include changing state statutes that currently allow state legislators to hold closed caucuses and vote on legislation during late night sessions." [emphasis added]
Go ahead and parse that: the best you can come up with is that some closed caucus meetings are OK, perhaps if there are no votes there. He didn't say all closed sessions!

As weak as that argument is, are you going to tell me that there was no assessment in that caucus session of where the votes were to be on his measure?

And by the way, his campaign website sure is fun to read.
