Wisconsin anti-mask fools willing to prolong the pandemic
Important to remember that WI GOP Senate Majority Leader and Congressman-to-be Scott Fitzgerald -
has a novel approach to wearing life-saving masks during a pandemic:
GOP leader wants Wisconsin Senate to strike down mask order
- and right-wing allied litigants who hope they've successfully judge-shopped for an anti-science activist in rural NW Wisconsin are all willing to undermine what even Trump's top disease agency official had to say at a hearing about what can reliably slow the pandemic and its deadly toll:
During the hearing, Dr. Redfield also said that masks are “the most important, powerful public health tool we have” in fighting the pandemic.
He said universal mask use could bring the pandemic under control in a few months and said, “I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against Covid than when I take a Covid vaccine.” (Vaccines are not 100 percent effective, whereas masks, worn properly, do what they are designed to do.)
Fitzgerald never followed through with his threat, Evers' indoors-only mask order expires on 9/28 (and could be extended) - and there is no sign Wednesday that the virus is expiring.
