Sen. Bob Jauch Writes About NW Wisconsin Beauty

I hope everyone remembers this little note I pulled off State Sen. Bob Jauch's Facebook page tonight as plans proceed for a 4.5 mile long, half-mile wide, 700-1,000 ft. open-pit iron ore mine in his District dug for 35 years to replace dynamited, trucked, and crushed Penokee Hills' rock, forests and waters near Lake Superior:

At least 3 miles of cars parked on highway 13, Bayfield full of families from Minneapolis, St. Paul, Stillwater and beyond. Motels are full in Bayfield and Washburn as area prepares for last day of ice cave viewing. Ice road is icy and bumpy and limited to local traffic. Our quiet and beautiful region has been discovered and we will no doubt see many people venturing to the north this summer to enjoy the sea caves and those beautiful islands.
