Tracking Wisconsin DNR Action On Waukesha Diversion Application

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has established a web page to publicize its actions surrounding Waukesha's application for a diversion of water from Lake Michigan.

On that page is a button taking you to "EIS Process" that details that initial step in the process - - the preparation for an environmental impact statement (EIS) analysis of the diversion plan and possible alternatives - - if and when Waukesha has cured the deficiencies in the application that caused the review and EIS activity to have been placed on hold in June.

The EIS document and process, governed by statutes, will include a public comment period and a public hearing, so the process is transparent.

Waukesha's Common Council reaffirmed its support for the application last week and the Waukesha Water Utility has said it will send the DNR information to address the deficiencies.

Activity on the DNR web pages is an easy Internet location to track if the DNR is actively reviewing the application, along with other pertinent information.

Growing more junk space sprawl in Walkesha is a waste of water and also taxpayer dollars. Let the sub-urban parasites just dry up and blow away.
