Ald. Bob Donovan Chooses To Stand On, With Far Right

Milwaukee South Side Ald. Bob Donovan has chosen to amp up his disagreement with Mayor Tom Barrett by opposing the proposed streetcar line along with Americans for Prosperity, a national righty advocacy group serving the Koch Brothers and numerous heavyweight conservative issues more likely pushed by Fox News, or by Karl Rove and Republican campaigns than opposition to a local streetcar plan.

Donovan is, shall we say, an outspoken Alderman in the tradition of the late Bob Anderson, and has not been shy about criticizing the Mayor. It probably plays well in his district.

But standing with Americans for Prosperity, with its agenda so far to the right and disconnected from Milwaukee, won't win Donovan any allies among his colleagues and thus on behalf of his constituents.

So much for the tolerance and coexistence platform of the left I guess?
