Novices Got The Recall Movement Rolling

Great piece in the Cap Times today about the birth of the recall movement. The perfect antidote to  yammering on the right about "union bosses."

Do those novices include all the political campaign consulting firms from Chicago?

The Cap Times piece was about the birth of the movement. The Chicago Trib piece is about what came later. Nice try.

Another example, equally inspiring, is that of Lori Compas, my neighbor just down the block here in Fort Atkinson . Fed up with the arrogance of her Sen. Fitzgerald and completely discouraged by the official Democrats and their unwillingness to organize his recall, she and her neighbors gathered the necessary 20+thousand signatories, she verified each one with phone books and FitzGerald is now on the hot seat.

How did Lori and her friends do it? Well, all you really needed to do is knock on the front door if its closed and don't wait for someone to open it, wipe your shoes on the door mat and mutter 'I'm here to help. Whadda I do?'
That's it. Your now an official unionthugleftwingteacherweddingphotoghousehusbandretiredbeatupvietnamhundredpercenttotallypermanentlydisabledvetfarmerbartendressbankerrealtorartistcaregiverforstartersmemberofrecallFitzGeraldcentralcommitteeandcoffeemakerrollsbakerfundraisertroublemaker.
In otherwords, someone just like you.
Simply put, this true story is FitzWalkerStan's worst nightmare. And that's how Lori did it.
