Wisconsin Plays Itself Out Of Federal Education Money

Plenty of blame to go around for Wisconsin and Milwaukee not being on the list.

Could the money be going to states that have underfunded their schools? Over the last twenty years, Colorado has gone from having some of the best funded schools in the nation to one of the worst. The federal government may be stepping in to keep some of our school districts from collapsing.

It would not surprise me if Wisconsin students are still getting more money per capita than Colorado students.

Why does this surprise anyone?

Apparently the Feds don't want to urinate away good taxpayer money into the black hole of dis-function that is MPS.

And maybe the Feds did not think MPS needed the money.

What with the average MPS compensation going over the $100,000/year mark - apparently MPS has all the money it needs.

I thought I would post a link to a critic of the "Race to the Top". http://www.democracynow.org/2010/3/5/protests

I think is silly for the Feds to give more money to say Milwaukee or Racine when the schools are so bad, and the Teacher Unions only care about themselves.
The public will not stand for more taxes for a system where the ave cost per teacher is 100,000 and ave City income is less then 30,000
