High Speed Rail Rhetoric Moves Forward

More assurances about Midwest High Speed Rail's winning a portion of the national funding pot.

So far, so good, but it'd better to see the certitude with which highway expansion is happening in SE Wisconsin with stimulus funding equaled on the rail side of the ledger.

And there will have to be rail bed upgrades, as well as well-positioned stations, or the public won't buy it enthusiastically.

Too bad that the RTA in Dane County/Madison looks like it is being gutted.

Now, the enabling legislation says that the RTA money can be used to pay for roads and Madison will only get 2 out of 9 representatives on the body. Maybe contact the governor and appropriate state senator is the way to go?
