Great Lakes Study Fatally-Flawed
Digging by the Journal Sentinel reveals a fatal flaw in the recent study on Great Lakes levels that said US Army Corps of Engineers dredging did not cause steep drops in Lakes Michigan and Huron.
A Corps staffer who co-chaired the study said the study had been independently reviewed - - in essence suggesting its findings were accurate and scientifically valid
The newspaper finds that independent review is not complete.
Great reporting by Dan Egan.
That's big news.
And a big problem for the study's value.
And for the co-chairman and the Corps, which apparently has learned nothing about technical work and public relations since Katrina.
So bring on a new study, and an independent investigation into the study's construction.
