Kathleen Falk Gets Opportunistic Opponent

A murdered coed and Dane County's troubled 911 call center has sparked an opponent, former school board member Nancy Mistele, for incumbent Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.

At this point, I'd post odds at about 60-40, Falk.

Making political hay out of a horrible tragedy should cost Mistele a few votes.

You do have to admit Falk mishandled it, right?

I think they struggled with a bad situation, and then moved to fix it.

I think voters look for problem-solving.

Campaigning on it is a mistake.

Mistele is going to be crushed. She's a right-wing obstructionist. There's just no way she can beat Falk. I'm kind of relieved that she is the best the right-wingers could come up with. *phew*
