Superfluous I-94 Interchange Has GOP Legislator "Stoked Up"

Some boosters of the highway lobby just can't contain themselves when there's the smell of fresh concrete air in the air.

Jeff Honadel, (R-South Milwaukee), you are getting your 15 seconds. One...two...three...

And Jeff Stone, (R-Greendale) - - you win the hyperbole prize for predicting billions of dollars in new development from the interchange.

Billions?

What are you guys stoked up on, anyway?

As someone has already commented on another site, you get a lot of development around a new interchange in an isolated area, but there is another interchange just a mile and a half away. The interchange may actually reduce development in the area simply by reducing the space available for businesses and homes.

Also, this apparently the cheapest interchange ever built. Anywhere.

Sounds like the same BS about light rail and Car Speed Rail.

Stone is an idiot - as are those who make the same arguments for the other forms of transit, particularly in a city our size.
