I'm reminded of a panel discussion that had several ex secretaries of state. Kissinger was asked about the domestic politics influences on foreign policy. Kissinger replied that there was always someone in the room saying "we can't do that because we might offend those people who would never vote for us in the first place." It's funnier in his accent, but you get the gist.
As some said in an email to me, two years ago, Sarah Palin was Mayor of Wasilla.
Two years ago Obama said in an interview that he was unqualified to be president.
