East Side Traffic Pressures Made Worse By Light Rail Absence

Yes, the East side traffic and parking situation is a mess.

I remember when the Waukesha County Board killed Milwaukee's light rail plan - - the whole ugly story is here - - that one Waukesha supervisor said it would have helped commuting students in his district get to the campus.

Which was true for commuting students in both Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties.

Too bad there weren't more reasonable transit voices in Waukesha - - and as I have said many times, residents there will rue the day that their representatives and then-County Executive Dan Finley bowed before talk radio to kill the system's planning when the upcoming eight-to-20 years of highway disruption at or near the Zoo Interchange and I-94 east and west through Waukesha County will make commuting by car a nightmare.
