Question - how much would it have cost to separate the sewage and storm sewers in Milwaukee versus the $4 Billion MMSD spent on the Deep Tunnel?
According to the linked blog the Deep Tunnel has reduced raw sewage dumping into Lake Michigan by 83.33%, but separation would in theory have dropped that by 100%.
And keep in mind the 1.5 billion gallons of raw sewage MMSD dumps annually, is 1.5 billion gallons more than anyone else would be able to dump without the DNR coming down on them like a ton of bricks.
Btw does that $4 Billion figure include everything, even the necessary capacity expansion(s) required of the treatment plants under the Deep Tunnel strategy?
