The fuzzy lines separating Team Foxconn and Team Walker have disappeared.
* In May, Walker toured the state announcing Foxconn contracts with Foxconn officials in tow.
* Then Walker was at the Foxconn groundbreaking last month, a few hours after a huge-ticket GOP fundraiser in Milwaukee with Trump.
* The next day, Walker and Foxconn bigwigs were in Green Bay announcing a Foxconn project there.
* Now we learn that Walker will make an announcement in Eau Claire - - in a vote-rich, swing area where Walker has spent time very recently - - about another Foxconn project.
So, three questions:
1. When does the Walker campaign begin reimbursing taxpayers for Walker's travel, security expenses and other costs for what has become the centerpiece of his re-election campaign?
2. When does the Walker campaign begin listing Foxconn's expenses related to these events and others since last July - - full Foxconn archive, here - - as in-kind contributions, given the events' obvious coordination with the Walker campaign and messaging?
3. And can a Taiwan-based business make such donations?
Do not expect Wisconsin's GOP AG and Walker sidekick Brad Schimel to ask any
such questions, as he's been on the Foxconn train about as long as has Walker.
Truthfully, I don’t expect anyone to do anything about this because business, and especially this business, in Walker’s ‘chamber of commerce mentality’ government will be served, but I think it’s worth some thought.

I think we all should know how much Walker has been bilking taxpayers for security and travel on these thinly-disguised campaign stops.
ReplyDeleteFoxconn is merely one of many excuses he uses to do that. The "jobs announcement" photo op is another, with no follow-up on whether those jobs ever happen, and no report on the donor status of these businesses.
