Walker denies interest in nomination draft, but check his history

So the rumor mill is said to have people unknown talking up Scott Walker as a last-ditch replacement for Donald Trump, the GOP's presumptive reckless and racist presidential nominee.

Rumors that led Walker to pooh-pooh any interest on his part:
"I am completely committed to being governor," Walker told reporters.
Wait a minute: We've heard this Walker campaigning/disclaiming before and it led to some blatant flip-flopping.

Remember when Walker said in a 2014 debate with Mary Burke when asked if would serve out a full second term that his "plan" was to do just that - -

"My plan is if the people of the state of Wisconsin elect me on Nov. 4 is to be here for 4 years….it’s a position I’m committed to.”
 - - but shortly thereafter rolled out a presidential fund-raising committee, absented himself from the state repeatedly and ran so hard for the GOP nomination before flaming out and a single caucus ballot had been cast in Iowa that he's still saddled with a $900,000 Presidential campaign debt.

How did that happen if his plan [sic] was to "be here for 4 years" and serve out a full second Wisconsin gubernatorial term?

Note the similar phrasing in the 2014 and 2016 disclaimers - - even the repetition of the word "committed."

What he's "committed" to is his personal advancement, all the way to the top, regardless of that dream's preposterous foundation.

As I said at the time - - don't confuse a plan with a pledge if it Walker doing the talking, and I'd offer the same admonition today.

The guy has a incurable case of the Presidential bug.

It wouldn't surprise me if the rumors are coming from Walker himself, or people close enough to him to speak on his behalf, whether authorized to do or not.

Fomenting a 'draft-me' movement, then coming out and saying with a ton of false humility, 'people are twisting my arm calling like like crazy. How could I turn down them down?'

  1. Just before the last election he said, "I don't want to see Right To Work legislation come to my desk." 2 months after his reelection his staff announced that If RTW legislation came to his desk, he would sign it.

Scott Walker's preacher father must be mightily disappointed at the deceitful actions of his son.

Still, Republicans are not stupid enough to draft an extremist as a convention spoiler.

As Paul Ryan said this morning, "He (Trump) won fair and square."

  3. "Committed"

Walker uses this technical/ambiguous term repeatedly.

I believe he should be committed.

But the commitment laws just aren't what they used to be.
