Mattis is leaving as Defense Secretary and senior Trump restraint
because the General knows that the Trump whom Ryan helped legitimize and inflate is too irrational to control. For his weakness and failure, Ryan should have apologized to Mattis and the American people, but instead, the hypocrite and phony from Janesville offered empty cliches on Twitter.
The House is indebted to Secretary Mattis for his service. With our country’s defense in his hands, we have become a safer America at home, and a more commanding force abroad. His patriotism and grit are matched only by his humility and graciousness.
Well at least Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is distressed.

"McConnell finished his statement by asking Trump to consider a replacement whose views align with Mattis's.
“It is regrettable that the president must now choose a new Secretary of Defense," McConnell wrote. "But I urge him to select a leader who shares Secretary Mattis’s understanding of these vital principles and his total commitment to America’s servicemembers."
Yeah.
Be sure and hold your breath until this president does that Mitch.
Now the President is calling on Mitch McConnell!

Trump then praised Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) for pushing the end of the filibuster in a Thursday night tweet.
Ok.
I wonder whether Susan Collins will be clutching her pearls or hiding from the media when the President appoints boy wonder Jared as his Secretary of Defense?
Also I hear some Trump voters now have buyers remorse. Better late than never. I Guess.
