What's a poll-challenged Republican facing a blue wave to do but give away more public money as the election draws near? If we had December elections, he'd be handing out turkeys.
Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday used his veto power... extend the sales tax holiday from two to five days, between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5, when he signed legislation in Waukesha that also provides families with school-age children a $100 tax rebate per child.
Extending the holiday will cost an extra $3 million according to Walker's office... now estimated to cost $14.8 million. It's an ideal holiday paid for with other people's money. Party on, Scott.
These guys are such jerks. First Kooyenga with his taxpayer paid for settlement of $30K and now Walker with his $3 million campaign ploy. Is it really too much to ask that they be held accountable in November?
ReplyDeleteA pathetic gimmick. All to drain the treasury ahead of the next budget.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, we don't have an,extra dime to pay to fix the roads. Heck, will Walker even ask for FEMA aid for the extra costs of this snowstorm?
That's a funny comment. Giving away free stuff is a staple among the Democrats. Free college! Fatter pensions for unions! Gimme, gimme gimme! As if a paltry $3 million is really going to make a difference.
