Common Core Rollback Has One Main Client: Walker 2016

Wisconsin educators and a suddenly-energized Reasonable Republican caucus in the Legislature seem to have enough support to shelve a wholly-unnecessary, Scott Walker-led rollback of national standards for Wisconsin school kids known as Common Core.

The consummate self-interested political game-player, Walker wanted to kill Common Core so he could appeal to Federal Government/Obama haters in this election year and into 2016.

Blocking Common Core - - and you know the Right just hates that word "common" - - would have allowed Walker to lay claim to more fake "courage"and "bold reforms," like his refusal of federal Obamacare funding to more widely expand health insurance coverage for low-income Wisconsinites.

Walker got away with making poor people his political pawns, but might be unable to turn school children into campaign sound bites.
