The Value Of WTMJ Talk Radio

The largest AM station in the state has Charlie Sykes boiling down complex Middle East diplomacy and World history this morning into one word. "Appeasement." That is some public service talk radio.

  1. I had left the car radio tuned there after listening to part of the Packer game, and when I got in the car this morning, I heard him slamming the YWCA because of their recent turn to "a political agenda".

Yeah, paleo, that re-branding is going GANGBUSTERS.

I plugged in the iPod at that point.

  2. Way to go, rowen, you work for the journal communications propagandists -- but don't tell your readers that WTMJ-AM is a major part of that right-wing noise screecher.

Just more proof that "ethics" and "journalist" cannot be honestly used in the same sentence -- and you proclaim to be an "old school" reporter-guy.

    Nice disclosure, dude!

Keep buttressing those right-wing shills, rowen!

  3. I have published that Anonymous commenter's last comment that will appear on this blog, with two remarks: I do not work for Journal Communications. The newspaper posts some blog items, but no money changes hands, nor am I directed by the company, so that does not constitute "work." Other media post my items, and I do not "work" for them.

I assume the commenter missed this text on the lower left margin of the blog front page about a third of the way down:

    JAMES ROWEN'S BIOGRAPHY

James Rowen, a writer and consultant, worked for newspapers, and as the senior Mayoral staffer, in Madison and Milwaukee, WI. This blog began on 2/2/ 2007. Items posted at various Wisconsin media, including Journal Sentinel Purple Wisconsin site.

  4. He's been very tiresome. One might wish he would start his own blog documenting the crimes of Journal Communications, even if only so that one might ignore it more completely.

  5. James is too qualified to work for Journal Communications.

  6. Glad you are no longer going to post that Troll. It has been posting bs for far too long. Too bad all that energy couldn't have been used for thoughtful, concrete and useful dialog. Perhaps someday it will learn...

  7. That dude misses a lot more than your bio in the corner. Good for you for dumping him. (assuming it's a him--sounds like an angry white male.) He's always on TPE whining the same old refrain and has yet to convince you and other readers and commenters of your paid position with JS. And he keeps insisting that you shill for the JS, when in fact you frequently offer criticism of the paper and its TV and radio discharge pipes.

Good riddance to people who refuse to get it. Or who aren't capable.

  8. I want my public airwaves back.

  9. This went on for too long.

YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF ROWEN'S OBEISANCE TO THE RIGHT WING JOURNALCO'S CONTROL OF EVERYTHING.

James, will you finally admit that you are in thrall to the anti-JouranlCo troll complex?

    :)

  10. This is all rather simple really. If Obama negotiates with Iran or fails to attack Syria, thus starting WW3, he is an appeaser. However, if he does attack Iran or Syria he is wagging-the-dog in an attempt to distract from Obamacare's problems. See how easy righty logic is? Damn him if does and damn him if he doesn't, and by the way, he's black.
