Some of those nerdy goofs who are documenting climate change and finding cures for cancer or warning about acid-mine run-off at the proposed iron mining site near Ashland - - "scientists," they are called - - have discovered a massive undersea volcano estimated at 145 million years old.
So how did it get there if the earth is only 6,000 years old?
Truly, God works in mysterious ways LOL
ReplyDeleteOnly the hyper-politicized religious right keeps honking about creationism. Religious folks of all kinds across the world understand that natural selection and whatever flavor of divinity they believe in are completely compatible.
ReplyDeleteIt's as simple as this: "God also created evolution." Hey presto! You can love science and your holy ghost thingy At. The. Same. Time.
Natural selection is a proven, observable fact. Evolution from amoeba to man has never been proven and never will be. Just because people believe in creation, just like many of the most influential scientists who have lived on this earth, does not mean that they think pollution doesn't exist as the op-ed here tries to insinuate. Yes, believe it or not, many if not most Christians believe we are caretakers of this earth. Many atheistic scientists are and have been involved in raping this earth. Many Christians have not joined the ranks of the liberal side because of their "I'm smart and you are stupid because you are religious attitude." That is why many choose to be independent. By the way, the current religious right pols running the Wis government, do not follow any Christian beliefs. Rather, they wave the Christian flag hoping to sucker others in.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, Sept 8, 7:20 pm:
ReplyDeleteWhat if God created the amoeba and then put into place the evolutionary process causing it to evolve into more complex life forms? Are you saying you don't think God has the power to do that? Why does God have to think within our box? What if the first amoebas had souls? What if they still do? What if God wasn't so set in her thinking about what kind of form a life force was set in?
Glad you're one of those open-minded Christians who believe that all liberals think they're way smarter than you and that most scientists are atheists!
@Betsey
ReplyDeleteName one DNA profile linking man to any other life form on earth, including the ape.
The chimpanzee and another ape, the bonobo, are humans' closest living relatives. These three species look alike in many ways, both in body and behavior. But for a clear understanding of how closely they are related, scientists compare their DNA, an essential molecule that's the instruction manual for building each species. Humans and chimps share a surprising 98.8 percent of their DNA. Link
ReplyDeleteThe chimp is a mutated human?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Xoff.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous 5:10 PM: Never ask a question you don't already know the answer to. . .
I had to re-read Anonymous' comment several times looking for the trick part of his question. Too easy. Guess the trick was on him.
The only time they believe in God is when THEY need it, on THEIR terms. We all know who they look to in times of need and despair, they just won't bring themselves to admit it.
ReplyDeleteAll Christians can do is try and help them see the light. If they want to be miserable and live in a God-less society, there will be eternal repercussions that they will have to deal with.
Betsey, did you read the 9:23?
