Everyone Once In A While Greenland Melts...

So scientists will study one such event earlier this month in the context of climate change.

The “Massive Melt” is only at the very surface of the ice and this only lasted for several days. The ice core records show that this has happened at regular intervals before satellite imagery. Do not be alarmed at media reports which sound like all the ice on Greenland has melted; unless, of course, you enjoy scaring yourself silly over non issues.

  2. But - "On average, about half of the surface of the ice sheet melts during the summer. But from July 8 to July 12, the ice melt expanded from 40 percent of the ice sheet to 97 percent, according to scientists who analyzed the data from satellites deployed by NASA and India’s space research institute."

Given the current heat waves and drought conditions, violent storms it behooves us to be concerned but certainly not alarmed. Afterall -I i gues we could fly to some planet that has some evidence of water.
