Walker gives Evers a fiscal salute (unintentionally, no doubt)

If you remember that Democratic WI Gov. Tony Evers vetoed GOP legislators' reckless plan in February to get no lasting value from a state surplus -
The overall bill would have cost the state $392 million in the next budget.
- you'll be amused at Scott Walker's short memory

and this no-doubt unintentional pat on Evers' back Tuesday morning:
By Former Governors Scott Walker, Haley Barbour and Susana MartinezMay 12, 2020
States that diligently squirreled away savings instead of yielding to the temptation to spend every penny have a massive advantage in addressing looming revenue shortfalls.
Veteran WI political reporter Steve Walters noted about six weeks ago that the Evers veto was indeed serendipitous -
State Surplus Will Help in a Crisis
- but Walker and his partisan allies still fell into today's irony trap.

  1. Walker is nothing but empty slogans and talking points. He always was this guy, but he's even worse in his post-Guv career.

It's why he has zero chance for winning again, because people can play back every vapid, stupid thing this grifter has said.

  2. Skippy Walker"s favorite Barr will have to explain Burr cashing in on hospitality suites stock preceding pandemic. The Senate Intel chair should be held accountable. Walker is irrelevant.

  3. Jake, I agree with your description of Walker but sadly disagree about his election prospects. Yes he’s a vapid, stupid grifter but that shtick has worked for him since 1993 (and he barely lost in 2018). If the virus continues ravaging the local economy, I can easily see Walker running for governor or senate in 2022 on a “let’s return to the good old days” platform. There are just enough vapid, stupid Wisconsinites who will buy it.

By the way, I haven’t commented on your blog lately, but it’s not for lack of trying. For whatever reason, I am unable to post. I am only able to post to Mr. Rowen’s blog when I use the “web version,” not the “mobile version.” For yours I can do neither, and it’s frustrating. But keep up the good work...I’m reading.
