Media should call out Scott Walker for tweeting five times today on the campaign trail that he would keep "Wisconsin working for generations to come"
while having failed during two terms to create 250,000 new jobs during his first four years in office.
Which he promised as his job-creating floor, not the ceiling, yet two months ago he was still 37,000 short.

WOW!
ReplyDeleteThis is the strongest statement I believe you have made here on the roll of media creating the myth of the mighty Scott Walker. Yes, media should slam him on this, but the fact is that across Wisconsin the media has catapulted the propaganda that:
1. Walker is a fiscal conservative that balances budgets (FACT: Walker continues to blow up Wisconin's debt problem and we are approaching a full-blown fiscal disaster in the transportation budget. Foxconn will force the next governor's hand and require more austerity-for-you and endless-subsidies-for-my-campaign-contributors in coming years)
2. Walker has given school district the "tools" needed to fund education even though Wisconsin has cut education funding more than any other state in America (FACT: Many school districts are only viable with increased property taxes)
3. Walker is the friend of workers (FACT: The middle class has collapsed under Walker, wages are falling, and Act 10 and Right to Work (for less) means that this will not change in my lifetime).
There is no Gov. Scott Walker without Wisconsin's right-wing media echo chamber. This is why Scott Walker went from Republican frontrunner to literally ZERO support in the lead-up to 2016. The national media catapults republican propaganda regularly, but they couldn't make a fool like Scott Walker look presidential.
Build a wall across the longest contiguous border in the world, between U.S. and Canada? Yup -- that was Scott Walker's position in 2016.
As a presidential candidate, Walker could do no better than proclaim he credentials were that he had a "wife, 2 kids, and a Harley"?!?!?!?!?!
Good post -- media should tell the truth on Walker's economy. Will it happen? Not likely.
