The health care gods have spoken: That GOP Arizona Senator John McCain - - his party's most revered member - - needed blood clot surgery which forced postponement of this week's vote on the GOP's latest bad Obamacare replacement plan is a sure sign of at least four things:
* McCain is in no position to vote to deny health insurance to anyone, but he is in a strong position to vote "No" on moral as well as political grounds and kill the measure.
* Americans need reliable, universal, single-payer health insurance.
* Mean-bill advocates, like our own worse-than-clueless Ron Johnson, might through McCain's experience a shock of recognition moment and grasp the purpose and value of smart health care coverages for everyone.
* When it comes to health insurance, it's time to join the rest of the developed world and make sure every American who needs it can have the the same level of care that probably just saved McCain's life.

Amen and amen.
