Pence will fill homophobe niche on Trump-led GOP ticket

The noted racist, xenophobic and misogynist GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump is filling the homophobic void on the GOP national ticket and in his requisite Republican bona fides with the selection of country club recruiting model and veteran homophobe Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

His selection comes despite because of this recent rightwing and fundamentalist gold star on his resume:
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence's decision to sign into law a measure that could allow businesses to turn away gay and lesbian customers in the name of "religious freedom" has left the NCAA fretting ahead of next week's men's basketball Final Four in Indianapolis...
Pence tried to downplay the law's impact Thursday, but his allies who pushed it in the legislature -- led by Eric Miller, the head of Advance America and a powerful lobbyist on socially conservative issues in Indiana, who stood behind Pence at Thursday's bill signing ceremony -- touted the protections it affords businesses against gays, lesbians and transgender Hoosiers.
Pence backed down a bit and signed a clarifying law, but it was not the first time he was willing to sell out a minority group's rights.
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence defended his state's controversial religious freedom law in a press conference on Tuesday by claiming that he abhors discrimination. But Pence has always opposed adding LGBT people to civil rights laws that would protect them in the workplace, housing, and places that serve the public — going back to his congressional campaign in 2000.
Here are a few examples of Pence's anti-LGBT positions from his archived website for his successful congressional campaign in 2000, first pointed out by BuzzFeed's Andrew Kaczynski.
