I see a direct political, philosophical and rhetorical connection between the Republican Party's push for ballot box-obstructing Jim Crow photo Voter ID laws nationally, and in Wisconsin, and the Republican Party's Presidential nomination of a man who fought open housing, and denigrated Jews and African-Americans on his payroll while later self-servingly claiming "a great relationship with the blacks."
Nice turn of a phrase by the man who has also slurred women, Hispanics, and the disabled, and who tells the rabble he will take back the country for them after Barack Obama's second term has ended - - and who would make the country great for them. Again.
Trump's past and current statements and actions, like those of his compliant party - - from new voting restrictions as the Supreme Court led by GOP-appointed conservative justices rolled back the Voting Rights Act to Scott Walker's placement on the Wisconsin Supreme Court of a lawyer who has equated slavery with affirmative action - - are dismissive of the GOP's creation, its Abraham Lincoln legacy and a defaulted status as a major political party in a pluralistic and democratic society.

And connect the dots to today's State Journal story talking about the new unit in Schimel's AG office set up to sue the feds and waste God knows how many taxpayer dollars.
ReplyDeleteThese guys literally believe Wisconsin should be a Confederate state
