Trump's rants are effective, as Ryan caves with endorsement

Politico.com has the story.

I guess Trump's not-so-Presidential recent rants at reporters, a Federal judge and Gov. Susana Martinez, (R-NM), among others, gave Ryan all the justification he needed.

Though it's funny that the so-called smartest guy in the GOP could have such bad timing, as The Washington Post reported this morning:
The head of Hispanic media relations for the Republican National Committee, Ruth Guerra, has resigned her post after two years and will take a less prestigious job at a super PAC, which focuses on down-ballot races and thus will not require her to defend him.
Sources said Guerra, who grew up in Texas and is of Mexican descent, grew increasingly exhausted with having to defend The Donald on TV and in public appearances, especially as he continues to attack Hispanics. "I'm so proud of her,” a Hispanic Republican told our Ed O’Keefe last night. "I don't know how she held on for this long."
“It is relatively rare for party staff members to leave the national committee in the midst of a presidential campaign unless they are going to work directly for the nominee,” noted the New York Times, which first reported the story. “Ms. Guerra declined to discuss her feelings about Mr. Trump.”
Parse away #GOPcowardice if you think it's not an endorsement.

#GOPsolidarity: Pardon my naiveté.

  1. "Through these conversations, I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people’s lives."

Translation: Paul Ryan thinks he can maneuver Trump into supporting his psychotic plans to starve granny, undercut the middle class, rip up the safety net and splinter the ladder that leads out of poverty.

Good luck with that, chump. Not because Trump is any kind of champion of the working class but because he knows which side of the rhetoric his popular image is buttered on. Granny-starving makes for bad optics, especially with a multi-multi-millionnaire using high office to give himself and his friends tax breaks in the background. Raiding the public purse requires more subtle finesse and a more appealing distraction. Besides, Trump hates to be manipulated -- bad for the ego, don't you know -- and Ryan just had the hubris to declare that he's going to use Trump to further his own ideological objectives. The question's not when the hammer's going to come down but when.

  2. As for the timing of the announcement, I assume Ryan was trying to steal the air from either the Guerra resignation fire or Hillary's big foreign policy speech. Or maybe he was just trying to change the subject after Trump's 800-pound gorilla routine (bashing the press for daring to ask questions or doubt his word, harumpf!) last Tuesday. I'm sure there will be plenty more from where that came from, so I hope Paul has plenty of editorials ready. Until the gorilla turns his attention to him :-)

  3. Paul "Not a Not a Numbers Guy/Not a Policy Wonk" Ryan is lyin' again. The media catapulted a man that is arguably more dishonest than Scott Walker onto the national stage in 2012 with the lies they started catapultin' in 2011 -- that "numbers guy policy wonk" crap.

All Ryan "achieved" in his lifetime on the public teat is a remarkably bland and void record. But then the media started to misrepresent him as a "numbers guy" and "policy wonk". Paul Ryan is a Koch brothers ALEC hack.

In Wisconsin, the dysfunctional media echo-chamber will keep him suckin' on the public teat for a long long long time. On a national stage, he is an embarrassment and Mitt Romney even had to give him a time-out and sit him on the sideline in the critical weeks leading up to the 2012 election when he was on the ticket.

I look forward to the day when Paul Ryan can spend more time pulling clean dishes off the walls of soup kitchens and do shameless photo-ops pretending to wash them. But it isn't really Paul Ryan this made him an 800 guerilla.

It is the same lying liars that fraudulently catapulted Scott Walker into the Wisconsin Governor's mansion. Paul "Eddie Munster" Ryan is anything but the face of reason on the Koch-addicted republican party.

  4. Ryan summed up his decision to support Trump for one reason only as proven by this statement: "My point in basically not supporting him from the get-go was to make sure that we had someone working with us on this agenda and not against us.” In other words, Trump promised to sign all of the bills Ryan puts forth "from the Constitution, to national security, to reforming welfare, to cleaning up the tax code to replacing Obamacare. These are the kinds of things that we’re going to be rolling out in the next few weeks," And, that is the only reason Ryan will vote for Trump, to get his personal agenda passed and destroy millions of lives in the process.

Ryan has to back Trump if he ever intends to strip the poor and elderly of everything they depend on to survive along with stripping millions of people of their health insurance. You know Republicans never look at the end results of their legislation and end up hurting people with it all of the time. But, that's okay, so long as their rich benefactors don't get squeezed for a couple more tax dollars to make this a better nation.
