One WI GOP state senator's complaint says it all

I'd noted in several recent posts the special interests and thoughtless tone and content driving the GOP-led State Senate as it headed for adjournment this week, but State Sen. Van Wanggaard, (R-Racine) summed it up when Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald used a parliamentary maneuver Tuesday night to cut the session short and kill a children's health measure which had the votes to pass:
In a hasty move to adjourn shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, GOP leaders in the state Senate blocked a bill to make it easier for parents to get a drug used to treat child seizures...
"This is why people hate politics... It is, literally, tragic."
Here's a scorecard of Senate action

  1. I'm glad he see's the true colors of the Republican way or the highway. And yes Van, we do notice.

  2. He has done at least as much or more to create the situation he now decries -- IMHO, it is wrong to think this man said anything meaningful, profound, or relevant. When the next divide-and-conquer "bomb" gets dropped by Walker and his allies -- count on Van Wanggaard to take his marching orders.

  3. It really shows that Vos and Fitzgerald are the gate keepers for all legislation. Unless they give their blessing any piece of legislation will not pass their chamber. That is so wrong and what really makes them dangerous, they along with Walker control all of the party funds both legitimate donations and all the dark money that they've chose to have enter the campaigns. This means that three people in this state control all the agencies and branches of government. That is why it is so important that Bradley not be awarded a 10 year term on the Supreme Court! Also why it is so important to flip the Senate IN THIS FALLS ELECTIONS.

  4. I sincerely have to believe that the Supreme Court race will go to JoAnne Kloppenburg. Republicans have ticked off everyone and their complete authority has come to an end.
