Street cars went away in the 1930s through 1950s due to buyouts and dismantling of the systems by a consortium of tire, auto/truck, and oil companies who wanted to wipe out any competition. Also private autos and gasoline were more affordable for lower and middle class Americans than they are now. And, a lot of the gasoline you use in your car comes from Saudi Arabia so what's your point?
Wow, streetcars ride again even though they failed in the 1950's Do they run on solar or wind power ? Hopefully no coal power or hydro from Canada
